The Kraków Nativity Scenes exhibition in Frankfurt am Main

     On 7th December 2007 in Frankfurt am Main an exhibition of Kraków’s Christmas Cribs was opened. The exhibition was arranged by the Frankfurt – Kraków Fans Association in cooperation with Historical Museum of the City of Kraków.

     The opening was added with splendour by a concert of Christmas carols performed by Choir from Elementary School of the name of Karłowicz in Kraków and presence of honorary consul of Poland in Frankfurt am Main - Klaus Sturmfels and the Frankfurt – Kraków Fans Association representative - Saskia Schneider. Polish side was represented by Jacek Salwiński – vice director of our museum.

     In the old Dominican’s monastery building and contiguous church owed by local evangelical community - "Evangelische Regionalverband" 21 cribs made between years 1948 and 1988 were presented. Amongst them there was over 2.5 meters high crib made by Zdzisław Dudzik. Citizens of Frankfurt can seen also works of Kazimierz Wiatr, Tadeusz Gillert, Wacław Morys and others eminent, multiply awarded cribs makers. The exhibition will be opened until 17th of January 2008.
