Movie premiere in Oskar Schindler's Factory of Enamelled Vessels
Welcome to the premiere of the movie „Lipowa 4”, which takes place after the Memorial March on march 14, 2010 at 15:00 in the Oskar Schindler factory of enamelled vessels at 4 Lipowa Street in Kraków.
The Oskar Schindler factory of enamelled vessels at Zabłocie in Kraków became famous thanks to the movie by Steven Spielberg the “Schindler List”. For 17 years (since the premiere of the movie) hundreds of tourists from all over the world have been visiting this place. They have been arriving by coaches, their own means of transport and public transport. Main reason of visiting this place is figure of Oscar Schindler. But...
In spring 2010 in the administrative building of the factory we’re going to run an exhibition titled “Kraków during the occupation period (1939-1945)”. One of the events preceding the opening of the exhibition is a premiere of a next movie after the “Schindler List” related 4 Lipowa Street. The movie which will be a part of the exhibition.
The movie “Lipowa 4” by Marcin Kaproń tells the amazing story of this place. It raises almost unknown thread of Polish workers of the factory. Many of people think that in the factory of enamelled vessels used to work only Jewish workers. However to keep the history of this place true it needs continuous refreshing and the movie “Lipowa 4” is going to refresh our memories. And maybe is going to present absolutely unknown part of Kraków’s history.
Added value of this movie are accounts given by witnesses, illustrated with precious archives and reconstructions made in the factory of enamelled vessels in Olkusz. Interiors of the factory in Olkusz are very similar to interiors of Deutsche Emaliwarenfabrik during the War. The movie includes stories of witnesses – 3 Polish and one Jewish workers of the factory interlaced with sights of pre-war Kraków and pictures of the factory from the times before and during the War. Stories of the factory employees from the occupation times create multithreaded and quite human picture and thanks to interlacing private and official features, very clearly present the history of this place. The movie does not judge and does not comment the stories, and the perspective of four observers enables versatile and objective view on the matter. This is a professionally made document, utterances, graphics, music. Facts and atmosphere of those times – everything you will find in “Lipowa 4” movie.
