| Our museum is a member of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience |
| We would like to proudly inform that since the beginning of October of this year, three Kraków’s memorial places, branches of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków: Schindler’s Factory, The Eagle Pharmacy and the Pomorska Street joined elite group of members of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience. Thank to these places our museum became first Polish organization in the Coalition. The International Coalition of Sites of Conscience was established in 1999. This is a worldwide network of “Sites of Conscience”, places where in the past something particular, concerning contemporary problems happened. During last 10 years of the organization’s existence to the coalition entered 17 accredited memorial places (i.a. Terezin Memorial (Czech Republic)) and more than 100 Individual and Institutional Members from around the world. As per the coalition a Site of Conscience in a proper manner has to share opportunities for public involvement in issues raised at the site. Among the most important issues raised by Sites of Conscience there are humanistic and democratic values, human rights, cope with xenophobia, discrimination and exclusion – these are problems identified by the coalition as having roots in the past. Programs implemented in cooperation with the coalition has to initiate a dialogue and educate societies. Representatives of our museum are beginning activities within European Network of Sites of Conscience. Three Kraków’s sites of conscience will endeavor to get subsidies for staff exchange and stimulation of propagation knowledge about the past in the society and connecting these events with contemporary problems.
