| The Kraków Nativity Scenes exhibition in Basasno del Grappa |
| Basasno del Grappa is a beautiful place located in mountains. Each year, during Christmas time, exhibitions of Nativity Scenes from various regions of Italy, are arranged. In December 2007, on Giovanni Scioli – director of the Italian Culture Institute in Kraków initiative, the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków arranged there exhibition of Kraków Nativity Scenes. The exhibition was located in the small Angel’s Church (Chiesetta dell' Angelo), a place for 20 years acting in the capacity of exhibition hall. Oval, baroque interior was illuminated with colours and lights of 25 cribs, which haven’t been seen in Bassano del Grappa yet. Fabulous buildings made from colourful tinfoil attracted many guests, who found the cribs as unusually unique and even bewildering. That’s because they got used to absolutely different cribs, and found extraordinary architecture, unique characters and creatures like Mr. Twardowski or the dragon, many precisely made details, colours, lights, everything what the Kraków’s Cribs is composed of. Additionally they were surprised that the crib can look like this. That is why the exhibition really was successful. We think that many of guests will associate Kraków with beautiful, fabulous architecture and for sure will arouse willingness to see Kraków and compare with the city. |
